Marriages of divorced in South Bohemian Region, 1992-2008

This work is focused on the analysis of marriage patterns of reciprocally divorced spouses in the South Bohemian Region in the years 1992-2008. The work analyzes the age structure of bride and groom, their education, time elapsed from breakdown of previous marriage and regional origin. The results obtained are compared with national data, namely to determine whether the marriages of divorced individuals in South Bohemia differ from national trends.
The Metternichs, or Klemens Wenzel Lothar Metternich Is Getting Married

The first part of this work discusses the history of house Metternich with shells in their heraldry and also about another less significant house Metternich with lion in their heraldry. Furthermore this work summarizes the theories about kinship between these two houses. Another significant point of this work is the personal life of Austrian state chancellor Klemens Metternich and his marriages, which are analyzed in a separate chapter. The goal of this work is to analyse available literature and to this time unused sources and bring a comprehensive view of the problematic of the history this house and of the second house Metternich as well as to unfold the topic of marriages of the state chancellor Klemens Metternich and review essential publication dealing with these topics.
Seasonality of Selected Demographic Events in the Czech Republic after 1950

Seasonality of Selected Demographic Events in the Czech Republic after 1950 Abstract This thesis is focusing on seasonality of marriages, live births, induced abortions, spontaneous abortions, deaths and suicides in the Czech Republic in the period of 1950-2019. The thesis also describes several factors, which affect the seasonality of these events. The data is analyzed according to individual months in each year. Furthermore, the period is divided into decades which are described in more detail. Seasonality of live births, induced abortions and suicides is also analyzed with focus on particular day of the week. Seasonality of marriages is influenced mainly by social and cultural factors, legislations changes and traditions. The seasonality of live births is influenced by bioclimatic, energetic and social factors. The seasonality of induced abortions is influenced by the time of conception and operation of medical facilities. Seasonality of deaths is influenced by bioclimatic and sociodemographic factors. Suicides are combination of bioclimatic and social factors. Moreover, the thesis analyzes the changes in seasonality of some demographic events that happened in the pandemic year of 2020. The Rites of Passage at the courts of last Rosenbergs

Abstract. This work provides a view of the most important rites of passage at the courts of the last male members of Rosenberg family. Special attention is given to their rituals of the marriages, baptisms and funerals. These rituals and festivities associated with it were the major events of the social, spiritual, economic and political life. For baptisms and funerals their spiritual dimension is emphasized, in case of marriages their social and economic aspects seem more important. The work brings closer insight into many areas of the life of the highest Czech aristocracy at that time. Marriage in the period of normalisation: Stories of Women who got married between 1970 and 1989

The thesis, 'Marriage in the period of normalisation: Stories of Women who got married between 1970 and 1989', focuses on the wedding rate in Czechoslovakia during normalisation period, 20 years after Soviet occupation. The analysis is done in the context of governmental family and population politics and endeavours of normalisation regime to support marriage and natality rate. The present study describes measures which the government introduced in the 70's and their justification. The focus falls also on the influence of demographic behaviour and how this behaviour was unique and exceptional during normalisation period. The whole study is based on the fact that personal testimony of narrators can contribute to an understanding of the human aspect of our history. The qualitative research method used was oral-historical interviews recording the experience of 6 women. The study analyses their decision making factors to enter the institution of marriage, what was young families' economic situation and how they perceived and exploited state support system for young families. Development of seasonality in typical seasonal demographic time series from 1994 to 2014

This thesis is focused on seasonality in typical demographic time series from 1994 to 2014. The aim of this thesis is to analyse seasonality in monthly time series of live births, deaths and marriages in the Czech Republic and to determine whether seasonality varies in time, whether there can be proven its rise or fall in dependence of changing human habits and traditions respectively. Each demographical process is defined by basic terms and characterized by both absolute and relative indicators. Monthly demographic time series are compared by using average seasonal indexes and further compared for years 1994, 2004 and 2014 by monthly seasonal indexes. The conclusion of this thesis is aimed on comparison of seasonality in time series of Finland and the Czech Republic.
